During the pandemic we co-founded and ran a home meal delivery program for isolated seniors in our city.   We served almost 11,000 meals prepared with food repurposed from restaurants and grocery stores.

After that we created a program for seniors experiencing homelessness.  Our weekly catered breakfast helped create community and connect seniors to resources available in the city, county and state.  Two seniors have been housed and we're hoping for more!

Our next Covid-relief effort is to work with an organization that provides medical material to underserved communities, as well as treats the wounds of people on the streets.

As you'll see elsewhere, we have a strong connection to Japan. Because of our partnership, we work closely with friends of ours providing emergency aid after international disasters. Most recently we helped the village of Hitoyoshi after devastating flooding.  Our work helped preschoolers and the rebuilding of sacred spaces.  

Caring for our unhoused neighbors is a major passion of our church.  We've had long relationships with organizations providing support in Huntington Beach and Orange County, as well as developing new areas of service.

We believe there's a hidden face of homelessness that we need to discover, especially in our schools and among our seniors.  We also work with people living near our church.
